Rambo - Lionsgate

Many of you remember growing up with your favorite action heroes, Rambo and Chuck Norris. These names, to me sound like the fathers of action movies, big guns, sharp knives, explosions and one man army. I thought those days were over until I saw this movie being advertised as coming out early next year. “Finally,” I said “My kids will have a piece of the action experience we had, and told them we had.” Okay, I dont have kids, but thats not the point anyway, the point is that this movie should live up to its ‘Rambo’ name and give the same exciting thrill it did decades ago.
So, here’s the plot for the movie, John Rambo of course is our main man, and he is a Vietnam veteran now living in Bangkok, secluded from the rest of the world. He lives a peaceful life and does not want anything to do with war or violence at large. Well, you always avoid trouble, but that does not mean trouble will avoid you as well. One day, a group of Christian missionaries approach him, wanting to buy a boat to go up river to Burma, a war infested region that has not seen peace for many years. The region is controlled by Major Pa Tee Tint and a slew of Burmese army men. Willing to help, Rambo gives out the boat, and later news comes to him that the missionary team was ambushed by Pa Tee Tint’s men and several of them have been killed and the rest of them held captive.
This right here folks, is what we call the Rambo scenario, hostages at distress, and Rambo comes to save the day. As you would have guessed, Rambo is approached to save the captives, and soon he has no choice but to embark on a mission that would be his deadliest.
Guys, if you are not planning to watch this movie, you better stay at home and not watch any movie for the whole of January. This is my top movie next year, since it should bring me memories of tying a red cloth round my head and going around calling myself Rambo. Even better, the movie story has been written and directed by the actor himself, Sylvester Stallone. The rest of the cast consists of Julie Benz, James Brolin, Kim Dickens and Bruno Campos. So come January 25th, I expect you to be at a theater somewhere with a red band round your head, believe it or not, I will. Here is a link to the Official Movie Website.
