This is a movie trailer which we choose every week as the trailer that improves anticipation for a movie in the best way. Last week, we chose the trailer of Cloverfield. The production is not the best but it creates a kind of mystery feeling that makes you anticipate the movie more. Now, we will break it down and analyze it. Here is the full trailer;

Now, we are going to analyze a few scenes in the trailer;

First is this scene below;

The character in front is said to be Lizzie Caplan and the girl behind her is Jessica Lucas, reportedly playing Lily. Caplan said of her role in a recent interview with Black Book, “My character in this movie is kind of sarcastic, and she’s not great friends with people”. The bitch always dies in these movies. The second scene;

Where did all the people suddenly go? We don’t know what length of time the movie covers. Maybe it’s in real time, since it’s all on handheld. But if there comes a point where people have stopped running and screaming and left one of the world’s busiest cities empty, are we going to be seeing events over hours, days or even weeks?

The third scene;

At least some of the characters (Rob and Lily?) get close to escaping in a helicopter, but the next shot of screaming shows all did not go well. They’re well above Manhattan here, so is whatever’s attacking them either hundreds of metres tall or can it fly?

And finally, the fourth scene;

The title is now 100% absolutely confirmed as Cloverfield. Not Monstrous. Not 1-18-08. Cloverfield. Just Cloverfield. Glad we got that sorted.

To this effect, I guess you must have seen why Cloverfield got our first spot on this one, the production wasn’t awesome quite alright but they got everyone scrambling all over the internet to put the pieces of their codes together. These guys are freaking people out and even if we don’t guarantee this movie is awesome, we guarantee it has a lot of attention. Thats probably why you are here reading what we have to say about it.
